I fully understand the reasons behind the "no VPN access" rule. They are needed to keep the server alive and let the majority of the people test the code and the game in general. My ISP is configured like a giant VPN and so each time I want to login I need to write to Jerry. It would not be a problem if we live in the same time zone, but living in Italy makes this impossible. So I'll wait for the next phase :)

Thumbs up for the whole staff for the awesome work, resurrect the galaxy! :)

HELLO!
Attachment 664

Dark Jedi in SWG are power houses in small scale pvp, pve, and dueling; how ever neither Jedi are ideal for large scale PVP or for war zone style pvp.
in order to make a well balanced DSJ you will have to decide on a few things do you want to be either.
A) a power house of damage
B) focus more on defense

both options above are viable how ever my personal pick is option B). why? well Dark Jedi have natural DPS and some natural tanking elements, DPS from 100% armor pen with lightning based power's and tanky from the force choke line to reduce targets damage by x%.

this build is mostly for PVE, and can work for Dueling but it is not built around it.

Skill Tree
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Attachment 665Attachment 666

2< con 2< agil - con and agil are our 2 main stats out of the 3 to stack first and fore most
4< glancing blow - this is our main defensive exotic stat
3< sweep/strike damage - this is to help us get to the next row but also does increase our damage with those when and if we use it
1< force cloak - same as above but this can help us get a slight jump in a duel (you may replace this and 1 of the sweep/strike points and put into strength)
1< saber parry - this is important for tanky builds gives our saber block a nice boost 3< improved saber block - greater usage of saber block
---------------------------------------path tab-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4< remorseless nature - grants us more stamina while in the jedi focus
4< brutality - more crit chance 4< ruthless precision more % damage
1< dark lightning - more powerful force lightning line
2< tempt hatred - A Jedi gains a 2% percent of action per point spent from damage by tempting hatred in that opponent, while in a focus.
1< choke - force choke ability
1< maelstrom - Aoe force lightning ability
1< force drain - our damage/heal ability (shares cooldown with normal self heal)
2< improved choke - increased initial damage and DOT damage
4< wracking energy -Increases Force Lightning, Force Mealstrom and Force Drain armor penetration by 25% per point. Adds a snare to Force Lightning and increases snare duration by 2 seconds per point.
3< improved drain - increased healing
2< strangulation - decreased targets damage output

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Basic 35 Stats
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Constitution: Adds 8 max points to your Health Bar and 2 max points to your Action bar for every 1 point.
Agility: Affects Dodge, Parry and Evasion Chance
Strength: Affects Block Chance, Block Value, Hit Chance, and adds a damage bonus to melee attacks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exotic Stats
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glancing Blows: The damage reduction from a glancing blow has been reduced from 96% to 60%. In addition, Elite and Boss category NPCs (as well as those higher level than the player), have a natural chance to receive a glancing blow.

Crit Hit Reduction: Reduces the amount of damage a Critical Hit will deal to you.

Block

Block is a defender attribute that has a chance to mitigate additional damage based on the defender's block score. Block mitigation is applied after armor so it is possible to reduce incoming damage to 0 with a high enough Block Value.

(Block Value + Strength) / 2 + 25 = Block Value

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Entertainer Buff
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ent Buff Vs PvE (Tanking)
Glancing Blow
Action Cost
3,000 to both Armors
rest into Con or Agility

Ent Buff VS other Dark Jedi
Glancing blow
Action Cost
12% 2nd chance
Full Con or Agility
Rest into the stat above you did not pick.

*tip* do not get armors vs other Dark Jedi due to the 100% armor pen from lightning based abilities.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meditation Buff Options
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
images.jpg meditate.jpg
Meditation is a special ability Jedi can use after collection all the jedi 1-5 and sith 1-5 holocrons of the meditation collection once collected you may use the ability to get 1 of 3 random buffs which in include

Vision of the Past (current version) grants block chance and block value *it is the blue color buff*

Vision of the Present: grants strike through and strike through value *it is a pinkish red color*

Vision of the Future: grants strength and % Critical Chance *it is a white color*

which one should we choose? either vision of the past or vision of the future
(remember Strength: Affects Block Chance, Block Value, Hit Chance, and adds a damage bonus to melee attacks. so it is also defensive)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISC Buff/Items
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Familiar Choice:

Use either the Gackle bat (gives strength/prec) or the mynok familiar (gives agility) ((optional)) the mouse droid (gives con) *i do not recommend it*

Mustafarian Injector: not much to say here this is an absolute MUST!

Jedi belt collection: This is an absolute MUST as a jedi it gives a nice bonus to stats when used with a jedi robe
*note* this works on nearly every jedi robe even the lvl 40 jedi robe's

Heroic jewelry: we have two options here
A)heroism and B) guardian
currently guardian is back to block chance and block value stats instead of the later glancing blow and crit hit reduction stats. while not as important to our build now but once it turns into the glancing blow version thats when we will use guardian.

so we will be using Heroism, remember the golden rule in most situations "better to pick flat stats than to go with random chance" *looking at you dark furry*
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Up's
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

what are power ups? these are item buffs that include shirt/armor/weapon *note* armor power up works on jedi robes
they can use either normal stats like strength or they can use exotics like critical chance you want to have these reflect you're build focus.

so our exotics are glancing blow/crit hit reduction/ and block chance
we can use any combination of the three stats above depending on situation. here are a few examples...
Example 1) when you are fighting a npc or player who is a critical chance build you might want to use 1 glancing blow and 2 crit hit reduction power up's
Example 2) when you are against normal NPC's or Players not focused on Critical chance we may use 2 glancing blow and 1 crit ht reduction (just incase they do get a crit or 2 off)
Example 3) when we are against NPC's only we might want to use 2 glancing blow 1 block chance or 2 block chance and 1 glancing blow either or works.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rotation and play style
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dark Jedi is rather simple to pick up rotation wise here is a normal encounter

force choke: to apply damage reduction > force lightning > Maelstrom > force drain (if needed)> repeat

you might be wondering why no sweep or jedi strike in the rotation? we are dark jedi our focus is force power damage using either of those is wasteful to our stamina when we are solo playing. we want to conserve stamina for boss's and other elites. how ever if you have a officer in the group then spam away with a good officer you will never run out of stamina.

*important note* let the global cooldown finish after use of lightning or maelstrom. if you try to use one after the other rapidly it has a high chance of setting both of them on cooldown without actually firing the ability.

our goal as a tank dark jedi is to gather up groups of NPCs with maelstrom and to apply force choke and the toughest NPC, just like any tank we are to keep everything off the healers and officers and all others.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saber's and Crystals
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

lightsaber's allow jedi to parry ranged attacks as well as melee and is only usable by jedi players, there are several types of saber's out there but the good news about Dark Jedi is, our Saber is not as important to use as a Light Jedi; not to say it is not important to us DSJ but we do not rely heavily on it. Here are some options

With this robe equipped, you can't wear pants, boots or cloaks.

When worn by Ithorians or Trandoshans, the boots are invisible.

Light icon Defeat Bre'ano Umakk

Click the Light Jedi Statue on Dantooine at /waypoint dantooine -4218 4248.
Requirement: Stay defended for 3 minutes against the Light Jedi Bre'ano Umakk

Dark icon Defeat Quillara Adeen

Click the Dark Jedi Statue on Yavin 4 at /waypoint yavin4 -2152 7234.
Requirement: Kill the Dark Jedi Quillara Adeen.

As a Jedi, you have to challenge Umakk Bre'ano the Light Jedi and Quillara Adeen the Dark Jedi, ancient statues and guardians of buried knowledges.

Defeating these powerful foes is a necessary step in the Trials you have to go through in order to complete your destiny as a Jedi. This is not only about taking down opponents, this is about proving that you understand perfectly how to use your powers, in due time and when necessary. This is about proving your value.

You can't get an external help during the fights, or you will be considered unworthy and lose the Trial.

The rule of 2 : timing and patience.
Don't expect to get out alive of these encounters by throwing all your tricks in the shortest time. Timing.. you'll prevail only if you manage to use your Jedi skills at the right time. Patience.. you won't win these fight the first time, keep faith and challenge them again until you succeed. The Trials are also heavily based on how many buffs you have..

Umakk

Umakk Bre'ano

He's the Light Jedi statue, the lesson is about learning to tank, you therefore won't attack him during the fight. Key objective is to survive during 3 minutes.

The Saber Block macro

Create a new macro named 'saberblock'

/ui action toolbarSlot0x; (where x is the number of your toolbar slot)
/pause 10;
/m saberblock;

Combat! Get all your main buffs ready. Activate your Jedi focus then meditate with Visions of the Future if you have it. Activate Saber Block and the defensive wild force shard. Also the Revitalization Pack and the GCW banner if you have them. Click the statue, and begin the fight. Remember, don't attack Umaak, just tank him.

Dark Jedi Guide for Umakk Bre'ano:

This guy is complete cake if you time everything right. You don't need to use any fancy stance switching to beat him or worry about debuffs.

What you do is make a new toolbar with the following on it:

Force Drain 1
Saber Block
Heal Stim

I kid you not, its this simple. Get full Medic buffs, and take an Officer and a Commando with you. Have them fire off their buffs and have the Officer drop some heal stims, then start the fight. Now just stand there and hit him with Force Drain 1 while cycling your saber block. Do note though, that you will want to wait until you have only 1/3 of your health left before firing the drain or else you will kill him and fail. It takes a good number of the drains to kill him and fail but I didn't chance it and don't recommend chancing it. Remember to hit the heal stim right after hitting drain in order to be 100% sure to heal as much as possible.

The timing is tricky-ish, but you'll beat him. It's much easier than everyone makes it up to be. You might fail a couple times, but I can say that once I used this method, as a Dark Jedi, I beat him first try. If you are a Light Jedi, direct your attention to the guide below.

Light Jedi Guide for Umakk Bre'ano:

Running this npc is similar to what one might expect while trying to land a plane. You don't want to focus entirely on your view port as you have important instraments to watch. I barely even looked at the action on the screen. Instead, you have to watch for the debuff and cool down timers of your actions. Fortunately, the debuff icon now shows under your buffs so identifying it is pretty easy.

Now that you have taken a little bit of damage, activate your GCW buffs if you have them.

At this point you are probably nearing the need to heal. Before you heal, you must activate your stance! This will get you the full 10k heal. This is because with your focus active, the debuff he offered will not affect your heal while in stance. So click on your stance, fire your heal and saber reflect. Some may advise against the reflect as it causes damage to the npc. However, it also doubles your alacrity which is very important. The damage done to the npc is minimal compared to the amount of protection it offers. Your not supposed to be attacking anyway so the amount of damage from this one buff will be miniscule in comparison. (If you really want to use saber reflect make a 1th generation training saber to use for the trial. Since reflect is based off your saber damage you will do less damage to him with it). As soon as stance cools down, fire off your focus! This will ensure that if you are debuffed again, it will not be the one that cuts your heal in half. (thanks to masselin for pointing out that saber reflect must be fired off while stance is active)

The two icons are best described as being brown and green. There are pictures in them, but under the circumstances, you won't see what they are. The brown one is up while you have focus, the green while you have stance. There is a possibility that he may fire off the green debuff before you can activate your focus. If he does, just wait it out until you see it go poof or switch to the other one. Then get your stance back up, heal off and get back to your focus asap.

During this battle, your saber block should be cycling automatically. So the only things you need focus on, are the debuffs (which one is active), the cool down on your specials (heal and focus/stance), and rotating into your stance right before you heal, then back to your focus as soon as you can. If you have heal stims, you can time them accordingly in between your main heals. As I said though, I did not use them as I didn't have time to get any.

If you follow this path, you will succeed in defeating him. I cannot vouch for any other way as this is the only way I did it. I know others have completed in different ways, but I can guarantee that this one works. You may not get it on the first try as it takes some practice getting your stance up for a heal then back to focus in the 4 second span you have between the debuffs, but if you keep at it, and use this pattern, you will defeat him. Congratulations, control is now back in your hands.

The Saber Block macro

Create a new macro named 'saberblock'

/ui action toolbarSlot0x; (where x is the number of your toolbar slot)
/pause 10;
/m saberblock;

Combat! Get all your main buffs ready. Activate your Jedi stance then meditate with Visions of the Future if you have it. Activate Saber Block and the offensive wild force shard. Also the Revitalization Pack and the GCW banner if you have them. Click the statue, and begin the fight. Remember, don't deal burst damage to Quillara, just survive while dealing constant medium damage.

Dark Jedi Guide for Quillara Adeen:

This statue is a bit more complicated for us Dark Jedi than Umakk is, due to the fact that we have to do what we do best which is deal damage. The strategem for this one is pretty standard, so have a look at the guide below. I can say though, that for whatever reason, when I fought this statue, my force drain 5 healed me 100%. So use the auto-attack and hit that force drain 5 when you are at about 1/2 health and you'll sort of tank her. The timing on this is kinda iffy, cause not only do you wanna use drain and auto-attack, but you also wanna smash her with your other attacks. Dish out the lightning/shockwave/grip slowly, as the debuff will kill off your health at the same rate your action goes, and I suggest leaving your saber attacks alone. Unless you get what I think was a glitch and drain 5 gets you a 100% heal like I did for me, then the tactics will be those used by Banessorrow below.

Banessorrow's Guide for Quillara Adeen:

Running this npc is similar to what one might expect while trying to land a plane. You don't want to focus entirely on your view port as you have important instraments to watch. I barely even looked at the action on the screen. Instead, you have to watch for the debuff and cool down timers of your actions. Fortunately, the debuff icon now shows under your buffs so identifying it is pretty easy.

The debuff situation on this one is more simplistic than the light side boss. You never need to change your stance out, so the only debuff you get will do the same thing (I actualy failed the first time today trying to switch them out, succeeded by leaving stance up the whole time). When you see the debuf icon, Do not fire ANY of your specials. The debuff takes your health away at the same rate you action goes. When you see the debuff, just focus on your health and let the auto attack do its job. Keeping saber reflect up helps alot. Just keep in mind that when you fire it off, if the debuff is up, you will take damage from it. If you have health to spare, it may be worth it. I didn't use specials much at all. I found that due to lag, the debuff was up before I saw it and I was crushing my health before I had time to react..

Now that you have taken a little bit of damage, activate your GCW buffs if you have them.

At this point you are probably nearing the need to heal.

During this battle, your saber block should be cycling automatically. So the only things you need focus on, is the debuff (so you know when you can fire your specials) and keeping track of your health so that you don't get dead. If you have heal stims, you can time them accordingly in between your main heals. I used a full set of Officer heals for this boss. Had I not had them I might not have made it. I did not have some offensive buffs active though as they were on cool down from the last attempt so you should be able to finish it without them if you have to.

Additional advices for Umaak

Run a saber block macro, force drain 1 or heal when you can. Do nothing else do not attack. Do not take the NPC's heath below 1/2 with drain. Just heal and SB.

Additional advices for Quillara:

Run a saber block macro and use saber reflect as much as possible, heal when you can. Just run auto attack. When you use action it depletes your health. For me saber reflect and auto attack did enough damage to kill the npc, when the npc was down to very little health I used the only two gcw buffs I had.

Additional advices for both statues:

What seems to work best (for both statues) is to of course get every buff you can, then wait 8 seconds after clicking on the statue to fire saber block and self heal, then during debuff stage, use officer stims. Once the debuff is over, fire Saber Block and Self heal again, then wash rinse repeat until completed.
Another thing to consider here is find a smuggler to land you on the ISD instance and then /eject as soon as you land then go attempt these. However, it might be considered as an exploit, no official position from SOE is known on the matter as of today.

Once all of these prerequisites are met, you will be able to visit any Force Shrine and use the Meditate (Ability) in front of it. You will be given the choice to get the Master Jedi Cloak which can either be the Cloak of Hate or the Shatterpoint Cloak.

It is has been confirmed that you can get both cloaks: drop one cloak in your house or a storage droid (not bank) and go get the alternate cloak at a Force Shrine.

Hello all,

With the recent announcement of the testing focus:

http://www.swglegends.com/forums/sho...ors-amp-Bazaar

I have dropped a house outside of the rori rebel outpost to help quicken the pace of crafting and selling on bazaars/vendors and more for this weekends stress test. Feel free to use the house, plenty of room behind to drop your houses too, a small city should get set up around this area to promote quick trades or be a hub for crafting.

The testing house at 3503 -6352 rori consists of:

Respec councilor "vani korr"
Crafting stations
Frog

Reminds me of Teesquared's house on live.

Three vendors placed now:

Lyase: 80 11 point lyases added

Commando Guide

Welcome, soldier!

Here we go...

Armor: I've mainly used battle, but assault is a good choice, too. (please for the love of God do not get recon) Make sure it's the good stuff, crafted by a good trader with a socket in there for yer attachment. (don't forget a socketed shirt and PSG! also try to get something built in your chest plate, HW damage, HW crit, etc.)

Weapons: You'll want a HW for every element. If you get a crafted one, like the chest plate, try to get something built into it.

Weapons for each element you'll want to get your hands on:

Devastator acid launcher: acid, of course
Lightning cannon (crafted) or crusader M-XX heavy rifle (deconstruct+craft): electricity
Pulse cannon (crafted)/lava cannon (chu-gon-dar or crafted)/old republic flamethrower (musty loot/chu-gon-dar): heat
CC-V Cryo Flamethrower (heroic loot, crafted)/CR-1 cannon (battlefield, deconstruct+craft): cold
You can also have a Kinetic element weapon, the C-M fragstorm shotgun (from restuss, deconstruct+craft), and an Energy element weapon, the Heavy Particle Beam Cannon (crafted), but people don't normally use those.

The main heavy weapons I use are the Devastator Acid Launcher, Pulse cannon, CR-1, Republic flame thrower, and the CC-V Cryo

Expertise: here's the basis you'll want for pretty much any expertise template (except for grenadier): http://www.oekevo.org/expertisecalcu...9b12b1a735-0-9

For frontman I suggest you go with something like this: http://www.oekevo.org/expertisecalcu...9b18888a20-0-9
Now, you could balance out the AOE resistance and You'll Regret That boxes to your liking, but I find this to work quite well.

For Juggernaut I suggest something like this: http://www.oekevo.org/expertisecalcu...9b18888a20-0-9
Killing spree and cluster bomb are very useful especially in group PVP and you still get some extra protection when snared with You'll Regret That

And now for something completely different, Grenader: http://www.oekevo.org/expertisecalcu...6a7945d91b-0-9
This can be used successfully in group PvP, as long as you get the kill meter points off of nearby NPCs/in battle to get off your cluster bomb and have a good medic/offi around. I had alot of fun when I played it, and its worth a try.

These are my suggestions, I encourage anyone to experiment for themselves to see what works for them but these have worked for me.

Armor Attachments: For a purely offensive build with Juggernaut, you'll want prec/con/luck as basic attachments and for exotics HW damage/PvP crit/Devastation (or replace w/ HW crit if you cannot afford) Pups should be full HW damage or you could do 2x HW damage and 1 PvP crit. This is also the same set up you'll want for the Grenader set.

For a tank build, you'll want Frontman and something like BV/str/con or prec/str/con for basic attachments and something like HW damage/block chance/GB or HP/block chance/HW damage for exotics. For pups you'll want block chance, crit hit reduction (pvp), GB (pve), etc. I usually use 2x crit hit reduction and 1 block chance for PVP and 2x GB and 1 block chance for PVE.

As always, you could mess with exotic/pup combos to see what you think works best

Buffs: For an ent buff for PVE I usually go with something like 2250 armors, 12% second chance, GB, ACR. For PVP I go with either 1500 armors 12% sec chance ACR GB 60 con or I replace the GB with crit if running juggernaut/grenader.

For drinks, I always use BoH. (be sure to also get any other buff items you can before you go out to combat, Musty injector, med buffs, tactical serum, and heal stims)

Tactics: Always carry around a decent rifle with you to be able to get your 'nades and cluster bombs off, and place it on your toolbar with your HW of choice and bind them to some keys to switch between them quickly OR you could make a macro

When dueling jedi, always try to use the republic flamethrower or CC-V, as they stack dots quick.

Position secured gets a pretty bad rap, but (like said in Rahak's guide) if used correctly, it can be a very useful tool.

When/if you see a group of random, low-level NPCs always take the advantage to get kill meter points, especially if you're a grenader or juggernaut mando.

Many people will also say that frontman is bad, but only to a certain extent. For group PvP, juggernaut/grenader is much more useful, but in certain situations, like e-peen xkunx 1v1s frontman can be quite useful.

When doing instances like AM, make a toolbar with all the different element HWs on it to switch between rapidly when the different NPCs spawn, and you can also use cryoban grenades on the cold element NPCs if you don't have a cold element HW yet.

Always focus on stacking DoTs and armor shredder, using grenades when you can, and time your heals with first aid training to get the maximum amount of health restored.

whelp. that's it.

if there's any misinformation, don't hesitate to let me know.

Special thanks to Rahak and his guide, Caboose for the grenader build, and any other fellow players for information I've picked up that is contained in this guide.

I just got back on these forums today and noticed a lot of updates. From what it looks like, it seems to me that this team is just trying to force a live server again just like they did on Reborn. Not a good idea guys. If they continue they will be back in the same position as was with Reborn and this will shut down too. I can already see it coming.

I'm trying to build up a test trade based city and need parts for different buildings. Mainly factory crates of Power Conditioners and Energy Distributors. I've looked on the market and haven't seen any or any vendors with them. I also need 1 chassis Protocol ADV droid for a shuttle port.

If any Droid Engineers have any please let me know.

EDIT:
I also would like to find some crates of Electronics Memory Module and Electronics GP Module so I can make some access locks.

I'd to like to see a RP community that is close-knit. I believe that this server is a great opportunity to get a community to come together and have a place anywhere, where RPers can RP. I have been playing the game for almost a year now and I have to say that I've enjoyed every second of it. I personally want to see a place to RP on each planet, that makes sense of course. Tribes of Wookies on Kashyyk, criminals everywhere, underworld dealings taking place daily, Imperial officers, Storm trooper patrols making their rounds on planets. I think factions of RP guild could fight each other and loremaster keeps track of who wins, who controls what sectors and so on. DayZ RP is a great place, each guild has their own page where they can recruit or advertise. It'd be sort of like Kotor. Factions control different sectors and it leads to some great RP opportunities. I believe the community has a great RP hub in Ascension, it provides people a place to come to for the time being. The community is helpful and nice. The point of SWG is to play it the way you want to play it, but it'd help to have a community for those who wish to RP. These are my ideas, what about everyone else?

There has been a few restarts today.

There has been a few restarts today on server. I was just wondering are these patches or server problems? I looked in Announcements and Community News didn't see anything so I thought I ask.
